Multiple Item Types
Management of Items can be further streamlined using SPS Complete through the use
of Item Types. Storage locations for items can be defined as General, New, Used,
Rework or Scrap, enabling automated management of the entire lifecycle of your consumable,
reworkable, calibrated and returnable items.
Management of an items life is further enhanced though the use of the item-life
functionality and item failure codes. Item life allows an individually traceable
item to be assigned a defined number of lives. Each time the item is returned to
the SupplyPoint machine, the user is required to enter the number of lives which
have been consumed from the item. When all available lives have been consumed the
item is returned to an administrator definable rework or scrap location, from which
it can no longer be used.
